Homer Simpson turns referee of World Cup in episode

The Simpsons are back in Brazil. In an episode aired on Sunday ( 30 ) in the United States , the family goes to the country to follow the World Cup . The show provides that the grand final will be between Brazil and Germany , but the green and yellow team lose by 2-0 .


The ignorance of Americans regarding football is a matter of joke in the episode . When Homer is invited to accompany the " biggest sporting event in the world ," he asks if it's the Super Bowl , the final of the football league in the United States.

About Brazil , there are many references to corruption , demonstrations and the country's reputation abroad. In a departure from Amazon Arena there is a written track " Welcome to Brazil ! Rogue , please tumultuem in Paraguay."

In the episode , titled "You Do not Have to Live Like a Referee " ( You Do not Need to Live as a Referee ) - the 16th of the 25th season of animation - Homer travels through several cities that are in the World Cup and will work as arbiter of competition. 

The character receives a proposal for a bribe to help Brazil to be champion , but ends up refusing .

Homer blows the final match at the Maracana , and does not indicate when the main player in the country , dubbed Divo , falls in the area after getting sick . Following , the athlete is buried .

The episode will be aired in Brazil on the eve of the World Cup on June 8 , FOX begins transmitting the new season of Entertainment on 27 April.

This is not the time priemira the Simpsons go to Brazil . In 2002 , in the episode " Blame it on Lisa " , the family go to Rio de Janeiro to find an orphan who was sponsored by Lisa . Because of the distorted view of the APIs , many authorities complained about the episode.
